Martha Banks is the recipient the Texas Probation Association's 2013 Judge Terry L. Jacks Award.
This award is given to the adult probation line officer who made significant contributions through her work to the profession of community corrections during the previous year.
The award is commonly referred to by Association members as the "line officer of the year" award. Martha has been with the Brazos County department since 2001.
Last December, Martha was also selected as the first-ever recipient of the department's "Helping Hand" Award, given to a probation officer judged by peers to be the most dedicated to helping offenders make changes in their lives.
