WASHINGTON COUNTY - A Brenham lifeguard has been awarded the American Red Cross Certificate of Merit for her efforts in saving her father this past Christmas.
On December 25, Hannah Hohlt's father, Jeff, passed out in his home.
Hannah went into action and performed CPR on her father until EMS arrived. It turned out, Jeff had a heart attack.
The Red Cross says Hannah used her skills she learned as a lifeguard to help save her father's life.
This award is the highest honor from the Red Cross and is signed by President Obama.
The Washington County EMS was also recognized for their life saving efforts as well.
