Today is the 36th Great American Smokeout and the Brazos Valley Tobacco Coalition is showing its support for smokers in our community.
The coalition is using this day to encourage smokers to quit. And you might say they're using a little tough love to show they care.
They've posted 1,200 names along the fence at Merrill Green Stadium to represent the people who die each year across our country.
Research shows quitting smoking can increase your lifespan.
For example, a 35 year old could gain an extra eight years by quitting. A 55 year old could gain five years.
