Here's a great story from one of our partners in the brand new News 3 Network.
According to the Navasota Examiner, Obie Harrison Jr. and wife Ramona maintain a garden that helps provide food for the needy.
A project started by Harrison in 2008 out of Madisonville, he has since produced nearly 400 pounds of produce every year.
After high school, he enlisted in the Marines and continued work as a farmer for the next 20 years. He says both gave him the sense of discipline needed to maintain a garden.
Harrison got the land donation after presenting the idea to Pastor Max Brand. This summer alone, Harrison has fed more than 200 people and plans to feed many more.
