The Gem of the day 12/23: Sam Houston State University Recieves a Very Large Gift

Sam Houston State University has received the largest gift in the school's history.A Pennsylvania-based company has pledged 25-million dollars to support the university's industrial technology program.

The founder of that company, Therm-Omega-Tech Incorporated, is Frederick Pirkle. Pirkle is a Bearkat. He graduate from Sam in 1970 and received his master's degree there four years later.

SHSU's president says she's honored and truly grateful for Pirkle's generosity toward his alma mater.
