COLLEGE STATION **Update 5:30***
Roads affected in this accident are now back open.

Officials with the College Station Police Department say one person is dead after an accident at the intersection of William D. Fitch and Barron Road.

According to officials, a pest control truck ran a red light traveling on Barron Road and hit a Land Rover driving on William D. Fitch. College Station Police say the truck was a Venus Pest Company truck, and it caught fire as a result of the accident.

Investigators say 24-year-old Daniel Dodds, the driver of the pest control truck, was pronounced dead at the scene. Dodds is the nephew of Venus Pest Control Owner Scott Lingren, according to the B/CS Chamber of Commerce.

Both occupants of the Land Rover were treated and released from the College Station Medical Center Thursday afternoon. The driver of the Land Rover has been identified as 63-year-old Michael Pittman.

Westbound traffic is being diverted to Victoria and southbound Barron Road is blocked. Officials are asking motorists to avoid the area.

Residents of the Sonoma neighborhood in the area are being told by police that no one can enter or exit the neighborhood at this time.
