Aggie Team Meets with Twin City Mission Residents

It was a special afternoon for some fans of Aggie football, and for the team as well.

When practice wrapped up Thursday, the players and coaches met with clients of Twin City Mission to brighten their holiday season. Plus, a Santa Claus who looked a lot like Outland Trophy winning offensive lineman Luke Joeckel stopped by to meet with the kids.

Players have been donating their time all this week at the mission to help those in need in the community.

"I think it helps our players who they are, bring them kind of back to Earth a little bit, and really give them a chance to help somebody else," Sumlin said. "It's a part of the educational process that I think is very important."

The players even donated more than $1,500 of their own money to Twin City Mission. That will go towards different projects, including a new playground for kids.

This is the fourth year the mission residents have met with the Aggies, an event former coach Mike Sherman helped organize.
