Fans finally got the chance to hear from Texas A&M Quarterback Johnny Manziel in Aggieland for the first time since he won the Heisman Trophy.

Thousands of people came to the attend the event called "Celebrating the 12th Man" on the Texas A&M campus.

“I've told him thank you. You have been an extraordinary young man, a leader for our team, a leader for our school, we appreciate all that you have put out for Texas A&M,” said Dr. R. Bowen Loftin.

Fans couldn't agree more. A hot item at the event was ‘Johnny Heisman’ posters. They are a replica of ads placed in the New York Times and USA Today the day after Johnny won the Heisman. Thousands of them were handed out.

Steve Kim took one for himself after making sure he took off work to be at the event.

"I figured I would be here and participate in the whole fun and celebration. It is fantastic for A&M,” said Kim.

Tedi Rockett said, "Perfect. It couldn't have been any better. They players are so humble about it. That's what makes it so great. They really appreciate it. You can tell. They are just like wow."

For Donald Davis, the event was extra special. His Aggie father was in school when John David Crow won the Heisman in 1957.

"He passed away in April. He has the same birthday as Johnny so those kind of things so it makes it extra special,” said Davis.

No doubt it was also a special moment for Manziel and his Aggie Family.
