StoryCorps Catalogs Aggie Veterans' Experiences


TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY Members of the Texas A&M family that have served their country have been taken part in a nationwide effort to record first-hand accounts of their experiences.

For ten years, StoryCorps has been travelling across the nation sitting down with people and making audio recordings of their unique stories. Part of their work falls under the Military Voices Initiative.

That's why StoryCorps has been on the A&M campus and working with the Veteran Resource & Support Center, which put . When their visit is done, about two dozen sessions will have been conducted, which include chats with not only the military members, but also their spouses and children.

Not only does StoryCorps save the stories in their own archives, but the Library of Congress receives them as well to save in their records.

As a result of the partnership, A&M's Veteran Resource & Support Center is exploring options of their own to catalog the experiences of Aggie veterans which will be rolled out in the coming months.
