Every Victim, Every Time Conference Wraps Up

Members of a wide range of professional fields wrapped up a second day of discussions Wednesday to best respond to violent crime and its victims.

The annual Every Victim, Every Time conference was attended by local experts, plus many from outside the area. A variety of panel discussions and sessions covered an array of topics on issues like crime investigations, dealing with victims and understanding people who are committing crimes and those who may in the future.

Wednesday's keynote speaker was Mary Ellen O'Toole, a retired FBI profiler who worked on many notable cases, including the Unibomber, Natalie Holloway, Elizabeth Smart and the Columbine shooting.

Alicia Kozakiewicz, a victim of an online sexual predator who was assaulted as a result, provided Tuesday's keynote address.

The two-day conference was held at A&M Church of Christ in College Station.

Every Victim, Every Time is put together by the Crime Victim Conference Alliance, which is made up of 17 local groups, each with the goal of providing training for those who respond to violent crime.
