A MIXED BAG OF COMMENTS THIS WEEK. THERE ARE TIMES GREMLINS SNEAK INTO GRAMMAR OF STORIES POSTED ON-LINE OR FACEBOOK AND MOST ARE NICE, SOME ARE NOT.

CAROL BETH WROTE

Please proof your stories before posting them on the Internet. I've heard/seen better grammar in a rap song!!

AS MENTIONED BEFORE, ERRORS ON LINE ARE ALWAYS ADDRESSED. WE TEND TO WORK WITH EACH OTHER IN A KINDER, GENTLER FASHION.

EVERY YEAR AT THIS TIME OUR SEPTEMBER BROADCAST SCHEDULE IS HI-JACKED WITH U-S OPEN TENNIS COVERAGE.

CELESTE WRITES IN SOMETIMES AND IS USUALLY NOT HAPPY ABOUT THINGS:

Hey Mike! Don't you have an emergency back up station for sports? This Tennis All Tennis is getting OLD! And I'm too old to tweet!!

THAT'S KINDA FUNNY. CBS WORKS WITH KBTX ON A NUMBER OF PROGRAMMING ISSUES, IT IS A GIVE AND TAKE. TENNIS IS NOW WRAPPED UP FOR THIS SEASON, BUT MOVING PROGRAMMING TO OUR CW-8 ISN'T ALWAYS POSSIBLE. OFTEN TIMES, NETWORKS PUSH THE ENVELOP ON CONTENT, AND I LET THEM KNOW ABOUT IT, ESPECIALLY WHEN CONTROVERSIAL SHOWS APPEAR ON THE LINE-UP.

BILL WROTE IN ADVANCE OF A SHOW CBS PLANS TO AIR IN THE NEAR FUTURE. HE SAYS:

I have lived in Bryan College Station most of my life and seen KBTX grow with along our community. It was with shock and concern that I have starting seeing commercials on KBTX for a new show called "Partners" . I have a five year old daughter and am very much concerned about the impact on her of even the commercials for this alternative lifestyle programming. I would ask that KTBX not broadcast this program. So I want to appeal to you as the General Manager of KBTX to be responsible and do the right thing and not allow this programming on our local station.

BILL - PLEASE KNOW YOU HAVE BEEN HEARD AND I WILL KEEP AN EYE ON THIS PROGRAM, AS WE HAVE IN THE PAST.

SINCE OUR ADDITION OF AGGIE FOOTBALL REPLAYS, CLASSIC GAMES AND OTHER AGGIE FOOTBALL PROGRAMMING, WE'VE HEARD FROM A NUMBER OF PEOPLE INQUIRING ABOUT CW-8 NOT BEING ON SATELLITE. MANY BLOGS ARE SHARING INFORMATION ON HOW TO RECEIVE CW-8 USING THEIR DISH OR DIRECT RECEIVER.

MARK WROTE IN ABOUT ANOTHER POINT OF FRUSTRATION WE ADDRESS WEEKLY FROM NUMEROUS VIEWERS. HE WRITES:

Why is KBTX not in HD on Direct TV when the their web channel guide says it is? I watch you over the air on 3.1. I just wish your station was on HD on Direct TV.

FRANKLY MARK - I DON'T KNOW WHY THE GUIDE WOULD SAY IT IS IN H-D OTHER THAN - WELL - DIRECT OFTEN GIVES OUT BAD INFORMATION ON THIS TOPIC. I'VE ADDRESSED IT BEFORE, BUT FRANKLY PUT - KBTX INVESTED GREATLY IN FIBER ALL THE WAY TO NORTH OF WACO WHICH CARRIES THE KBTX-HD SIGNAL. WE ARE ONE MINOR SWITCH AWAY FROM GIVING DIRECTV AN HD SIGNAL VS. THE CURRENT STANDARD DEFINITION - BUT - THEY SAY NO. …CITING BANDWIDTH ISSUES ON THEIR END.

WE ARE APPRECIATIVE OF OUR PARTNERS LIKE DISH AND SUDDENLINK WHO CARRY KBTX IN HIGH DEFINITION, AS IT SHOULD BE. SUDDENLINK IS ALSO HOME TO OUR CW-8, IN HIGH DEF. WE ARE APPRECIATIVE OF OUR PARNERSHIP WITH OUR FRIENDS AT SUDDENLINK.

WE'RE LISTENING, AND YOUR OPINION ALWAYS MATTERS.
