STORIES OFTEN AIR ABOUT PEOPLE WHO HAVE A PRIOR ARREST RECORD, SOME MORE THAN OTHERS. DONNA WROTE IN REGARDING ONE SUCH STORY - CLINTON HURLEY WAS ARRESTED FOR REPEATEDLY CALLING 9-1-1-.

SHE SAYS:

How is it that someone who has been in jail 51 times keeps being allowed out with the charges that he has had? Will it be necessary to have someone die or have serious injury before they do something to stop him from tying up the 911 system?

WEDNESDAY'S PRESS CONFERENCE DETAILING THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF MOVING A&M HOME GAMES OUT OF TOWN DURING THE RENOVATION OF KYLE FIELD BROUGHT A FLURRY OF COMMENTS. OUR QUESTION WAS, SHOULD BRYAN AND COLLEGE STATION HELP FUND PART OF THE STADIUM RENOVATION - THAT QUESTION RELATED TO INFORMATION UNCOVERED BY NEWS 3'S STEVE FULLHART REVEALING THAT CHANCELLOR JOHN SHARP HAD ASKED BRYAN AND COLLEGE STATION TO CONTRIBUTE JUST SHORT OF 40-MILLION TO THE CAUSE.

DAN WROTE:

"No. TAMU is benefitting from all of the television dollars they could use to pay for the renovation. TAMU should not ask B/CS to pay for the renovation of it's football "studio." Example: KBTX did not ask Bryan and College Station to pay for the renovation of it's news studio (which, btw, looks very nice). KBTX, as any other business would, uses their revenue dollars to pay for improvements."

SPEAKING OF THAT PRESS CONFERENCE, WE HEARD FROM GINGER WITH A GOOD SUGGESTION:

Mr. Wright -
May I suggest that rather than having a choppy live stream that is stopping/starting/skipping, instead you offer a link to an audio clip that is perhaps not "live" but is at least complete. I'm trying to listen to this feed, and it's crazy frustrating trying to piece it together between the skips/jumps/stops. I don't mean to complain, but I just think this information is not only interesting but also very important to have in its complete form.

GINGER - YOU HAVE A POINT. WHILE WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE LIVE STREAMING, WE'LL REMEMBER THIS SUGGESTION. IT IS A GOOD ONE. SOMETIMES WHERE YOU WORK CAN AFFECT THE SIGNAL - LIVE STREAMS TAKE UP A BIT MORE BANDWIDTH THAN SOME ENTITIES OFFER, SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND - BUT AGAIN, I LIKE THE IDEA AND WE WILL DISCUSS THAT.

KBTX RAN A STORY ABOUT THE FFA HELPING WITH A PROJECT AT MESSIAH'S RANCH, A FEEL GOOD STORY ABOUT HOW YOUNG PEOPLE PUT THE WORK ETHIC THEY LEARN IN F-F-A TO WORK LOCALLY. HOWEVER, WE REFERRED TO THE GROUP AS "FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA."

STEVE AND OTHERS SENT NOTES TO KBTX:

I saw your story about the FFA service project. There were multiple references to the organization being the 'Future Farmers of America'. The FFA dropped the name 'Farmer' 22 years ago. FFA doesn't stand for anything. If you want to be factually correct, they should be called simply the 'FFA'. Nevertheless it was a good story and the kind I'd like to see more of.

STEVE - THANKS FOR THE REMINDER, I REMEMBER HEARING THAT SOME TIME AGO, AND CLEARLY THAT IS OUR MISTAKE. BUT - MAY I INQUIRE…WHY WAS FARMERS DROPPED? I KNOW - CHANGING OF THE TIMES, BUT TO ME? THAT ORGANIZATION AND THOSE LIKE 4-H AND OTHERS STAND FOR INTEGRITY, RESPONSIBILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY - ALL QUALITIES THOSE PROGRAMS INSTILL. AS A NEWS ORGANIZATION, WE'LL DO OUR BEST TO BE SENSITIVE TO ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THIS AND SIMPLY REFER TO THEM AS "FFA." LIKE THE ART ITSELF, THAT SECOND "F" WILL ALWAYS STAND FOR FARMING IN OUR MINDS - I GUESS WE JUST WON'T SAY IT - AND SOMEHOW, THAT'S A SAD TRIBUTE TO PIONEERS OF THE ART FROM YESTERDAY - TODAY - AND TOMORROW.

STEVE IS RIGHT, BY THE WAY. WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER. THE PREMISE IS JUST A LITTLE SAD TO ME.

BE IN TOUCH ANYTIME, YOUR OPINION ALWAYS MATTERS.
