THERE IS NEVER A LACK OF ARMCHAIR METEOROLOGISTS WHO EXERCISE THEIR RIGHT TO THROW AN INSULT OUR WAY NOW AND THEN.

JILL HAD A POSITIVE SUGGESTION:

"When you show your pinpoint weather that pinpoint banner blocks the coming weather north of us(Centerville). Put your banner on the bottom of the screen or show it and remove it."

JILL - WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENT AND WILL CONSIDER DOING THAT. THEN - SOMETIMES THEY WAY PEOPLE SAY IT IS INTERESTING TO ME.

CUTHAY SENT THIS NOTE TO KAILEY CAREY, AND I'LL READ THIS EXACTLY AS WE GOT IT:

Uhh... can someone tell Kailey that "Bedias" is pronounced; "BEE-dye" not "be-DYE-us?"

WELL, I CONFESS THAT MY FIRST WEEK ON THE AIR HERE IN THE EARLY - I WAS REALLY OFF WITH THIS ONE, CALLING IT "BE-DEE-US." THAT WAS AWFUL. ACTUALLY, I THOUGHT IT WAS MORE COMMONLY KNOWN AS BEDIAS, MAYBE SOME OF THE OLD-TIMERS CALL IT BEE-DYE. EITHER WAY - OUT OF RESPECT FOR THOSE IN BEDIAS, SHE'LL MAKE THE ADJUSTMENT. WE ARE SENSITIVE TO THIS. YOU'RE LOOKING AT A GUY FROM MEXIA - M-E-X-I-A - TALK ABOUT PRONUNCIATION ISSUES.

I HAVE TO SAY IT IS RARE THAT BOB FRENCH ISN'T GRACIOUS IN HIS RESPONSES TO VIEWERS OR CALLERS - EVEN WHEN PEOPLE ARE UPSET. EARLIER THIS WEEK, A FRONT STALLED OUT AND PUT OUR FORECAST BEHIND SCHEDULE. LATER, AS MOST OF US KNOW AND APPRECIATE, WE GOT A NICE RAIN. KENNETH GOT BOB A LITTLE RIALED. AT SOME POINT, YOU HAVE TO DEFEND YOUR DEPARTMENT - AND BOB DID.

FIRST, KENNETH WROTE:

How can your so called "WEATHER PROFESSIONALS" be so consistently WRONG???????????

AGAIN, THE SYSTEM WAS DELAYED, BUT THE RAIN DID COME. BOB FRENCH RESPONDED TO MAX, AND GRANTED, HE WAS A LITTLE IRRITATED.

BOB WROTE:

You must be a very unhappy person, saying such things about good people, real people. I have a wife, children and grandchildren. My co-workers are real, too. Two of them are young married people (not to each other) looking forward to building families. The third just graduated from Texas A&M. I trust their knowledge and forecasting skills, even the rookie. I have been doing the weather on television for 32 years, and I've been wrong a lot of times over those 32 years. But I have been right a lot more times. If you still feel the same way, you should try predicting the future and being criticized for "never getting it right". Bet your e-mail reply wouldn't be nearly as nice as this. If you focused on the right rather than the wrong the positive rather than the negative, you might not be so unhappy.

BOB FRENCH! YES, EVERYONE HAS A TIPPING POINT, BUT I TIP MY HAT TO BOB FOR RESPONDING. FORTUNATELY, KBTX HAS SOME OF THE STRONGEST ALUMNI IN METEOROLOGY WHO STARTED RIGHT HERE - THANKS TO BOB'S LEADERSHIP.

YOU MAY RECALL A WHILE BACK THE TRAGIC DEATH OF MICHAEL DANIELL. THE CHAPPELL FAMILY HAS AN ACCOUNT SET UP FOR HIS DAUGHTER KYLIE AND MICHAEL'S FUTURE SON. THE ACCOUNT IS SET UP AT SPIRIT OF TEXAS BANK ON UNIVERSITY UNDER "BENEFIT FOR KYLIE DANIELL."

TODAY IS BITTERSWEET AT KBTX. THIS SEGMENT MAY BE THE LAST ONE AIRING FROM THE OLD SET. WE DID OUR FINAL SHOW USING THIS STUDIO SET THIS MORNING ON B-V-T-M. NOW, ALL NEWSCASTS WILL MOVE TO A TEMPORARY SET IN OUR NEWSROOM WHILE THE NEW FACILITY IS INSTALLED. THIS WILL TAKE AT LEAST TWO WEEKS OR SO - BUT WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON-LINE, ON-AIR, ON FACEBOOK AND TWITTER.

THERE HAVE BEEN MANY STORIES REPORTED FROM THIS SET IN THE PAST 12 YEARS, WE'LL RECAP SOME OF THOSE AS WELL. UNTIL THEN, THIS LATEST INVESTMENT WILL JUST ABOUT COMPLETE OUR MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR UPGRADE FOR KBTX - FURTHER DEMONSTRATING OUR CONTINUED DEDICATION TO THIS REGION AND TO RAISING THE BAR OF EXPECTATION FOR KBTX. THIS IS INDEED, AN EXCITING TIME.

WE'RE LISTENING TO YOUR SUGGESTIONS, WE THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THEM - THE GOOD AND THE NOT SO GOOD. BE IN TOUCH ANYTIME. YOUR OPINION ALWAYS MATTERS.
