Washington County Habitat for Humanity is gearing up for another great year with it's gingerbread house auction.
This is the 10th year of the Gingerbread House Auction that benefits Habitat for Humanity and we hope to donate $10,000.00 this year, we are calling the “Ten for Ten” year! The auction has donated over $30,000 for Washington County Habitat for Humanity.
They are looking forward those people that are interested in decorating a house to donate for the auction, as well as those people that would like to help out Habitat by bidding and buying the donated gingerbread masterpieces.
Any group or individual that would like to donate a house will need to know that following dates:
We can still take some orders for additional house if anyone is interested in the “prefab” houses, but please order no later than November 9th. You can also make a house from scratch if you would like to do that for a project.
Prefab houses will be available for pick up from Brenham Abstract and Title Company at 105 W Main Street (by Must Be Heaven). Questions, please call Leslie Harrell (979)251-2481.
Nov. 26th and 27th
Complete gingerbread houses are due back to Brenham Abstract and Title. Houses are then distributed to downtown business to be on display through Monday, December 3rd .
Online auction will be available again this year. It will begin on Monday, Novembr 26th and continue through Sunday December 2nd . The website for the online auction is www.wchh.org.
Location bidding will be available at the location of each house in the downtown businesses. Bidding will be updated online under the bidder called “stroll bid” through the close of business Sunday.
Live Auction will be held at Unity Theater on December 3rd at 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Beer, wine and appetizers will be served. ALL BIDS WILL BE FINALIZED AT THE LIVE AUCTION ON DECEMBER 3rd . The top 15 houses, by bid amount, will be up for live auction. All other homes will continue with the silent auction until the conclusion of the live auction. All houses must be picked up December 3rd or arrangements must be made.
