LAST WEEK'S COMMENTS ABOUT THE CLOSING OF EASTERWOOD BROUGHT OUT A LOT OF FEEDBACK FROM VIEWERS, RATHER HUMBLING ON A NUMBER OF LEVELS.

J AND R WROTE IN:

Thanks, Mike, for your Easterwood comments...you were dead-spot on! We hate Washington bullies-especially those that TAKE our money then act like they are doing us a favor by funding safety programs...control towers!, road repairs, border agents- Keep those segments coming, and give Rich a 'howdy'

C-E SENT THIS NOTE:

Hi Mike, Now you have spoken words that could have come from my own mouth concerning the way some of our Nation's leaders are running things. There is no excuse for closing Easterwood Airport tower. It is a priority of mine to be in front of my TV set on Thursday at Four. I only hope our Representative takes the time to view each week to for a political and life thermometer of Texas and Brazos County. I also want to brag about the News & Weather Team, they are outstanding.

C-E, THANKS FOR YOUR KIND WORDS - WE REMAIN AND ALWAYS WILL BE A WORK IN PROGRESS. CASE IN POINT WITH OUR NEXT COMMENT. TECHNICAL GLITCHES ARE NOT SOMETHING WE PLAN ON HERE. ADMITTEDLY, SOMETIME IT IS MANUAL HUMAN ERROR, SOMETIMES IT IS BECAUSE WE FAILED TO CODE SOMETHING PROPERLY. ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE ADDRESSED.

MARY P. SENT ANOTHER E-MAIL ABOUT THIS:

I have emailed the station about the before and am dismayed to see it still isn't corrected so I am appealing to you. Every morning between 7:30 and 8:00 there is a partial commercial on Bipolar disorder with mark Harmon. He says 'bipolar disorder is a serious' and then it cuts off. This is a serious disorder often portrayed incorrectly on various tv shows. I'm assuming this is a factual, informative commercial. If you can't play the whole thing, please take it off.

MARY - YOU ARE RIGHT, I'VE ASKED, WE'VE ADDRESSED IT, AND PLEASE - LET ME KNOW IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. YOU'VE BEEN HEARD.

FINALLY - A CONGRATULATIONS TO THE KBTX NEWS, WEATHER AND SPORTS CREW. IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS, THIS STATION WILL BE HONORED WITH MORE AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM THAN ANY OTHER STATION IN TEXAS - THIS COMING FROM ASSOCIATED PRESS. OUR HARSHEST CRITICS ARE PEOPLE HERE AT HOME AND THOSE OF US HERE AT KBTX. WE NEVER SAID ALL WORK DONE HERE IS OUTSTANDING. WE HAVE THINGS IN CHECK - ONLY TO SAY - THESE AWARDS GIVE US AN INDICATOR THAT WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK.

IN ADDITION, FEBRUARY RATINGS ARE OUT. AND WHILE KBTX NEWS 3 IS THE MOST VIEWED PROGRAMMING IN THIS REGION ONCE AGAIN, THE BIG NEWS WAS PROGRESS FROM OUR SISTER STATION, CW-8. THE CW-8 AGGIELAND JUMPED OVER AT LEAST ONE MAJOR AFFILIATE IN THE MARKET AND IS VERY CLOSE TO OVERTAKING ANOTHER ONE. AT 6PM AND 10PM, CW-8 IS RANKED NO. 2 AND NO. 3 RESPECTIVELY.

WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED PARTNERSHIP WITH KBTX-NEWS 3 AND CW-8.

THERE IS PLENTY TO DO TO IMPROVE, BUT YOUR CALLS, E-MAILS AND NOTES ALL SERVE TO MAKE US BETTER. YOU'RE OPINION ALWAYS MATTERS TO KBTX NEWS 3.
