On Friday, Dec. 12, at 1:30 p.m., the City of Bryan will plant in Tanglewood Park one of 50 trees supplied by the Apache Tree Planting Program and Bryan Noon Lions Club.

This is the second year the agencies have provided trees for City staff to plant in local parks.

This year, the City received 10 each of Bald Cypress, Sweet Gum, Loblolly Pine and Shumard Oak. More than 40 trees already have been planted in Tanglewood Park, Tiffany Park, Bryan Municipal Golf Course and on park land recently acquired behind the Target store on Briarcrest Drive.

"The trees will be a great addition to these four areas and will be enjoyed for many years to come," said Darrell Lovelette, Bryan's director of parks and recreation. "We are grateful to the Apache Tree Planting Program and Bryan Noon Lions Club for this opportunity."
