The City of Navasota Sanitation Department would like to remind Navasota residents to recycle their Christmas trees after the holiday season. Through the Christmas tree recycling program, the City is able to provide mulch for the community and reduce the amount of waste being sent to the landfill.

Public Works makes it easy for everyone to participate in this environmental effort in two ways: through the monthly curbside residential yardwaste pickup or by bringing your tree to the Navasota Recycle Center. Tinsel, ornaments, tree stands and tree bags must be removed before the trees can be recycled. Flocked trees will not be accepted.

Beginning the week of January 5, regular yardwaste pickup will begin. Recycle Center hours of operation are Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will be open during the lunch hour. For additional recycling information, please contact the Navasota Public Works Office at 936-825-6450.
