Green Week on BVTM: Saving Power

Posted: Mon 8:59 AM, Jul 19, 2010

All this week, Brazos Valley This Morning is giving you tips on how you can get green, and maybe save some as well.

Monday, Green Week kicked off with a focus on powering your home.

Paul Buckner with Bryan Texas Utilities and Pat McIntyre with College Station Utilities joined the show to talk about steps you can take to keep your bills down.

One way to start is to go to the Department of Energy's efficiency page, where they offer fact sheets and tips.

CSU also offers energy audits to customers looking to conserve energy.

BTU and CSU have rebates available on a number of items, including CFL light bulbs.

For more information, watch the segment in the video player above. You can also visit BTU's and CSU's websites for more green tips.

The Green page here at KBTX.com is another resource to find tips on helping the environment and yourself. It's a partnership between KBTX and the Cities of Bryan and College Station.
