All this week, Brazos Valley This Morning is getting you ready to go back to school. Wednesday morning, vaccinations and physicals were the topics of discussion.
Dr. Davelyn Eaves-Hood with the Brazos Valley Community Health Centers joined the show to give tips on making sure all bases are covered.
Eaves-Hood says if your child hasn't gotten certain shots or if you're unsure if the child has them all, you can take shot records to your local health department for them to check it.
Children less than five-years-old going into Head-Start or preschool need to make sure everything is updated, including the new pneumonia vaccine. After the set of shots at four-to-six-years-old, the next series isn't until the child is 12.
While physicals aren't generally required until high school years when students begin participating in sports, the regular check-up is recommended.
