Local Surgeon, Aggie Team Physician Remembered

A renowned orthopedic surgeon and longtime Aggie team physician will be laid to rest Friday. Dr. L.W. "Larry" Coleman, 71, died Sunday in San Antonio.

Local services were held Thursday at Hillier Funeral Home. Friday, visitation will take place from 8-10 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Murray Cemetery near Rockdale.

Dr. Coleman practiced orthopedic surgery in Bryan/College Station from 1969 to 2006. He also served as chief of staff and chief of surgery at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. He was a team physician for Texas A&M from 1982-to-1994.
