In a St. Joseph Healthscene report, pain may be just as much a cause of arthritis as a symptom of it. Until recently, the disease was believed to be due solely to wear and tear, but more recent studies indicate it may be caused, at least partially, by specific bio-chemical changes in the body. By using this information, researchers hope to develop drugs that can stop arthritis from spreading from one joint to another.
