Depression and Heart Attacks

In a St. Joseph Healthscene report, doctors may want to screen heart patients for depression. Researchers report poor mental health makes a second heart attack more likely. The findings reflect growing evidence that depression often follows a cardiac event, and that depressed people run a higher risk of heart trouble.
