In a St. Joseph Healthscene report, aerobic exercise can reverse mental decline in older adults. A review of studies has found exercising hard enough to lose your breath increases the speed and sharpness of thought and the actual volume of brain tissue. The benefits were noted in people both with and without symptoms of age-related dementia.
