In a St. Joseph Healthscene Report, aggressive bone care could prevent hip fractures. Some advocates argue orthopedic surgeons should take a leading role in treating patients at risk for fractures related to osteoporosis. As it stands now, these specialists are usually brought in only after patients have already suffered a serious injury.
