In a St. Joseph Health Scene report, California's recent spike in autism cases could be due to the environment. Researchers say the eightfold increase can not be linked to changes in how the disorder is diagnosed or counted. Instead, they are urging health officials to look into chemicals and infectious agents in the environment.
