In a St. Joseph Health Scene report, a new report is encouraging parents to do more than just talk to their toddler. Researchers found parents who point, wave good-bye and use other hand gestures seem to boost their child's vocabulary. The kids who could convey more meaning with gestures at age 14-months went on to have a richer vocabulary as they prepared to start kindergarten.
