Cool Under Fire

In a St. Joseph Health Scene report, a new study has uncovered why some soldiers are cool under fire. Researchers found soldiers who performed best under extreme stress also had higher levels of chemicals that suppress the fear response. The findings could one day lead to new drugs or training strategies to help others cope better.
