In a St. Joseph Health Scene report, a few minutes of intense exercise may go a long way to cutting the risk of type 2 Diabetes. A new study shows young men who spent just 15 minutes sprinting... spread out over two weeks.. substantially improved their ability to metabolize sugar. Traditional aerobic exercise programs can boost sensitivity to insulin. This study's high-intensity program did that too... but it also directly reduced the men's blood sugar levels... something that standard exercise programs have not been shown to do.
