Another Mosquito Tests Positive for West Nile Virus in Brazos County

The Brazos County Health Department is confirming another mosquito has tested positive for West Nile Virus in College Station.

In a release Tuesday morning, County health officials said a mosquito found at the Texas A&M University Golf Course tested positive for the virus.

Mosquito control personnel with Texas A&M University have been notified of this detection and the location.

The Brazos County Health Department asks you remember the four D's of protection:
· Drain standing water around the house, including tires, cans, flowerpots, rain gutters, buckets, wading pools, puddles, etc. Trim grass and shrubs and do not over water lawns and gardens.
· Wear insect repellent containing DEET.
· Stay indoors at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
· Dress in long sleeves and pants when outdoors to prevent bites.
