Back in January, Bryan resident Morris Carrillo was confident participating in the H-E-B Slim Down Showdown would change his life.
"I'm confident that by the end of this, I'll be able to ditch at least half the medicines," said Carrillo back in January.
And change his life it has. Morris has been able to get rid of part of his insulin regimen, lost four inches off his waist, and physically feels better.
"I did things that I thought I'd never be able to do," said Carrillo.
Morris was able to drop 20 pounds during the Slim Down Showdown and had his big reveal at the H-E-B Slim Down Showdown finale in San Antonio on Saturday.
"It was definitely a journey of a lifetime," said Carrillo.
While Morris didn't win the $10,000 grand prize, the experience has been priceless and he doesn't plan on going back to his old ways.
"I don't want to go back to that sedentary lifestyle. I want to keep going. I want to keep moving forward," said Carrillo.
Watching me go though this journey in 2012 inspired Morris to take the leap and get healthy, now he wants to inspire you to do it.
"I don't look back on it and regret it. It was the best decision I ever made. Do it. Get off the couch and do it," said Carrillo.
Now if you'd like to participate in the H-E-B Slim Down Showdown, H-E-B will be accepting applications for the Slim Down Showdown this August. You can find more information about the contest linked below.
