"I love the kids. I may have three of my own but I have 350 that I feed here," said Mary Ann Luza.

For 16 years Luza has been a lunch lady at Johnson Elementary and for the past nine years her kitchen has scored a 100 every time the inspectors from the Brazos County Health Department have shown up.

"It's a habit that you form to make sure it's clean. That way, when the customers come in they see a clean kitchen and they'll want to come in and eat," said Luza.

Johnson Elementary holds the record for local schools with 19 straight perfect scores. A streak that started in September of 2002.

"We expect all of our schools to score 100 but to have that many consecutive 100's is an excellent job," said Sundy Fryrear with Bryan I.S.D.

Mary Ann credits the team for keeping the kitchen at Johnson Elementary clean.

"We all get in there together whether it's cooking or cleaning or just enjoying the day," said Luza.

And with such an outgoing team in the cleanest kitchen in the Brazos Valley, it's no wonder these ladies stay on the minds of former students.

"Some of the kids that were here a long time ago, they actually still remember me. That's a good feeling," said Luza

The next top performer in local schools is Pebble Creek Elementary which has scored 14 straight 100's followed by The Lamar School in Bryan which has earned 12 perfect scores.
