Testing for West Nile Virus continues in Brazos County, where eight new pools of mosquitoes collected late last month have tested positive for the disease.

While county health department officials continue to emphasize that the entire county is positive, the following locations had positive pools collected on August 22 and 28:

College Station
Glade Street
Rayado Court

Bryan
Woodcrest Drive
East Villa Maria
Warwick Lane

Texas A&M
Golf course
Bizzell Street
Ross Street (Wisenbaker Engineering Research Center)

At least 48 people have died in Texas, according to an Associated Press report Monday, which is about half of the deaths reported in the United States. Texas also accounts for close to half of the reported cases of West Nile Virus in the nation, with Dallas County and the Metroplex being the hardest hit.

In Brazos County, just two human cases of the disease have been reported. Both were non-life-threatening versions of the disease, according to the health department.
