New Emerging Treatment for Depression

By some estimates, millions of Americans are suffering from depression. Now cutting edge technology and research shows gene therapy is emerging as a possible treatment for the sometimes debilitating mental disease.

Researchers have reversed depression in mice, by restoring a crucial gene in the brain.

Similar tests on humans with Parkinson's disease have shown promise.

About 13 million adults are diagnosed with depression each year.
