Robertson County is about to take a major step forward when it comes to health care.
St. Joseph Regional Hospital is expanding with two clinics in Robertson County. Tuesday morning groundbreaking ceremonies took place in Hearne and Franklin.
The Express Clinic in Hearne will be built on Highway 6 on the north end of town. Typically Express Clinics are open evenings and weekends.
The clinic in Franklin will be the same size as the one in Hearne and will be built on Highway 79 on the west side of town. The new clinic will replace the older facility and provide newer equipment.
Officials and citizens have high hopes for the new medical centers. "This is going to provide greater access to health care services in a county that has neither an emergency room or a hospital. " says Kent Burdette the Hearne Economic Development Director
Both of these clinics will be 4500 square feet. The construction for the clinics will began in the next month and are excpeted to be open in the fall.
