In today’s Brazos Valley Physician’s Organization Journal of Medicine Report, Dr. David Moore talks about infertility.
Trying to become pregnant can sometimes be stressful on patients and couples and after one year of trying to conceive if difficulties continue we usually seek out some treatment options. Diagnosing infertility can be very complex since it is a complex problem involving two patients. First and foremost, any doctor’s visit you go to needs to start off with a thorough history with asking the correct questions. For an infertility workup we focus on menstrual cycles, development during puberty and previous pregnancies. After that we’ll do a physical examination, an ultrasound to assess the uterus, tubes and ovaries. After that different lab tests will be needed to assess the interaction between the brain and uterus and ovaries also.
Some couples many times just need some counseling and other times it can go all the way to a surgical procedure. There are many different tests that can give us a diagnosis and give us treatment and we like to do those if possible.
The Brazos Valley Physician’s Organization is a group of independent physicians who are determined to preserve the choice and the sanctity of the patient-physician relationship. Our vision is that the patient always comes first.
