Dr. Malcom Rude - Non-Evasive Liposuction

In this week’s Brazos Valley Physician’s Organization Journal of Medicine Report, Dr. Malcom Rude discusses non-evasive liposuction.

It injures the fat by freezing it and it came from some research out of Harvard where they found that fat that is chronically frozen tends to be reabsorbed by the body. So what the Zeltig machine does it that it sucks up a knuckle of fat between two cooling plates and freezes it at 41 degrees Fahrenheit which is cold enough to freeze the fat but not cool enough to freeze the tissues that are mainly water based. In that regard, it’s able to selectively injure the fat which then triggers your body to remove it.

It’s a very different kind of process than other forms on non-evasive fat removal that try to injure and kill the fat at that moment. It’s a gentler process in that regard. It takes about 2 months for the results to begin to show up.

It’s a nice result. It is not as big of a result as liposuction or tummy tuck but it’s a noticeable result and a very nice result. Unlike those other things, this is a noninvasive modality, there’s no surgery, no down time, no anesthesia, no recovery.

The Brazos Valley Physician’s Organization is a group of independent physicians who are determined to preserve the choice and the sanctity of the doctor-patient relationship. Our vision is that the patient always comes first.
