Find out what's lurking behind the kitchen door of your favorite restaurant. How do they fair under the watchful eye of the Brazos County Health Department? KBTX continues to look at which Brazos Valley restaurants are making the grade and which ones aren't.
Here's what inspectors found during the week of August 19:
Sonic on Briarcrest scored a 72 after inspectors found an employee not washing their hands, mold in the ice and soda machines and flies around the ice cream maker.
The dessert cooler was lacking a thermometer at Wendy's on Southwest Parkway in College Station, and the microwave was dirty. It scores an 80.
An 85 goes to El Coco Loco on Texas Avenue in Bryan where an employee with a bandage on their finger was washing dishes, while another was chewing gum in the food prep area.
It's a point higher for Golden China in Bryan for improperly storing food.
No sink towels at the Villa Maria Whataburger results in the same score of 86.
And we top things off with a 93 at GattiTown where employees were told to wear hair restraints and clean the drink nozzles.
