restaurant. How do they fair under the watchful eye of the Brazos County Health Department? KBTX continues to look at which Brazos Valley restaurants are making the grade and which ones aren't.
Here's what inspectors found during the week of December 30:
For the second time is less than two weeks, Las Lomas in Bryan is shut down.
This time for rat droppings, old produce and mold in the ice machine. It scored a 55 and reopened a day later.
The Texas Avenue Mexican restaurant was recently closed for nine days due to a faulty fire protection system.
The Fas-Start convenience store on Highway 21 had its permit suspended for moldy vegetables and hot food not hot enough.
A score of 66 cost the store $500.
The Kroger deli on Longmire in College Station also received a failing grade.
Inspectors found more than a dozen roaches and shut it down for 24 hours.
It's an 84 for The Republic for fruit flies and an outside BBQ pit not screened in.
While T. Jin China on Boonville also gets an 84 for cold food not kept cold enough and mold in the ice machine.
Plus, a pair of perfect scores is awarded to Cheddar's on University and Koppe Bridge Bar and Grill on FM 2154.
