Find out what's lurking behind the kitchen door of your favorite
restaurant. How do they fair under the watchful eye of the Brazos County Health Department? KBTX continues to look at which Brazos Valley restaurants are making the grade and which ones aren't.
Here's what health inspectors found during the week of March 17:
Top Donuts on Rock Prairie Road in College Station was closed for 24 hours for a clogged sink and hot water turned off.
After paying a $500 fine, the breakfast stop reopened the next day.
Live roaches forced the closure of Los Nortenos in downtown Bryan.
Inspectors found the bugs after receiving a complaint.
Pest control fixed the problem and the mexican food restaurant was given the all clear.
It's a 78 for Jack in the Box on Earl Rudder in Bryan because its dish washer wasn't sanitizing, and the icecream mix wasn't cold enough.
La Familia in Bryan was docked for food not hot enough, and grease build up behind the grill and deep fryer.
Inspectors found mold on the drink nozzles at Abuelo's, along with dirty coffee cups, and gave the mexican food restaurant a 91.
Nearby Pei Wei in College Station scored a 92 for raw shrimp not cold enough.
And a perfect 100 goes to Subway on Rock Prairie Road in College Station.
