A local restaurant with a serious roach problem is forced to shut its doors for five days.
The E-Star Great Wall Chinese Buffet on University Drive was shut down by the Brazos County Health Department after roaches were found in the kitchen and the dining room.
The restaurant was closed down for 24 hours and when inspectors returned, roaches were still found alive despite the restaurant having been sprayed for roaches.
E-star was shut down for another 24 hours, but due to the severity of the problem, the restaurant remained closed through the weekend.
This was the third straight inspection that roaches were found at E-Star Great Wall Chinese Buffet, so the restaurant was fined an additional $500 making its total fine $1000.
Brazos County health inspectors returned to the restaurant on Monday and the E-star Great Wall buffet was reopened for business.
