It was a bad start to 2013 for an eatery on restaurant row in College Station after inspectors with the Brazos County Health Department shut it down on New Year's Eve.

The Atami Steak and Sushi on University Drive was shut down Monday after failing its inspection with a 67.

Inspectors found ten infractions at Atami including no soap in the employee restroom, fruit flies in the prep area, a dirty slicer and knives with buildup on them.

According to inspectors, Atami wasn't preparing sushi correctly and the shut down cost the steak and sushi stop $500 in fees.

Atami reopened New Year's Day hoping for a fresh start to the new year.
