Despite a rain shower Tuesday afternoon, the Brazos Valley is still below average for the year. It's that lack of rain that's keeping mosquitoes at bay but the Brazos County Health Department says don't be fooled, they're still a threat.
The first batch of mosquitoes to test positive for West Nile has been confirmed.
The sampling spot was the Texas A&M University Golf Course at Bizzell and Lewis Streets.
But officials say all of Brazos County is positive for the West Nile Virus.
Residents are urged to practice the 4 D's:
-drain standing water
-dress in long sleeves and pants
-stay indoors at dusk and dawn
-wear insect repellent with DEET
