Lt. Kyle Retires After Almost 30 Years

A ceremony was held at the Bryan Police Department this afternoon to honor Lieutenant Brian Kyle.

Good to Know:

  • Lt. Kyle was a Military Police officer in the United States Army from 1981-1985
  • Joined the Bryan Police Department in September 1985 as a patrol officer, promoted to lieutenant the next year.
  • Among his other achievements, Lt. Kyle received his Master Peace Officer License, graduated from the FBI national academy, and received a Community Service Citation for providing security at the 2009 Presidential Inauguration.

 

BRYAN - A ceremony was held at the Bryan Police Department this afternoon to honor Lieutenant Brian Kyle.

Kyle is retiring after serving the department for 28 and a half years.

After serving in the Army, he started with B-P-D as a patrol officer and was promoted to sergeant in 1992 and became a lieutenant a year later. Kyle finished his career in the Criminal Investigations Division.

"I'm proud to have been able to serve for the Bryan Police Department. We're here as a department to serve the public and I hope through the years I've instilled that in the officers I've supervised," Kyle said.

Kyle received his bachelor's degree at Texas A&M and his master's from Sam Houston State University.
