PREVIOUS STORY:

A 4-vehicle crash on Briarcrest Drive in Bryan Wednesday afternoon killed one person and injured a number of others.

Police say it happened at the intersection of Briarcrest and Freedom Boulevard just before 5:30.

3 cars were involved and a fourth unattended vehicle was hit in the Chick-fil-A restaurant parking lot.

Westbound Briarcrest was shut down for awhile as police investigated the crash.

An 86-year-old woman passenger in the backseat of a black Nissan was killed.

The whole chain of events started when the driver of a westbound SUV lost control of the vehicle.

Bryan Police Sergeant Jason James said, "The vehicle struck a smaller black vehicle, a Nissan. From there it bounced off a Nissan and into a white SUV. Once it struck the white SUV it made it into parking lot here of Chick fil-A and struck a parked car."

4 people were injured in the crash and taken to St. Joseph Hospital.
So far the name of the woman killed has not been released.
