A Fort Worth Police officer injured chasing a kidnapping suspect from College Station has been released from the hospital.

The nearly four-year FWPD veteran had been in the Intensive Care Unit at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth this weekend but was released as of Sunday.

The suspect that hit the officer head on during the chase near Mansfield, Stanley Robertson of College Station, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Police were chasing Robertson because he is accused of kidnapping 59-year-old Anne Toliver of College Station from the Wal-Mart on Brothers Blvd. on Friday.

She was found dead behind a shopping center in West Fort Worth early Saturday morning. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled Toliver died from multiple stab wounds.

Robertson has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and is likely to face several more charges once investigators from Fort Worth and College Station wrap up their investigation into Toliver's death and the crash involving the FWPD officer.
