Convicted Shoplifter Fails to Make Public Display of Wrongdoing

A Bryan woman convicted of shoplifting has failed to complete her sentence.

Courtney Alexander pleaded guilty in August to stealing clothes from JC Penney and biting a security guard during a struggle.

As part of her punishment, Alexander was ordered to stand outside Post Oak Mall Friday for five hours with a sign saying she is a convicted shoplifter. However, she failed to show up.

A hearing is set for Monday morning in the Brazos County 85th District Court to determine any repercussions.

As part of her punishment, Alexander also received 30 days in jail, five years probation, and a $1,000 fine.
