Hearne residents will have to wait a little longer to learn who will serve on the city council.
The group was supposed to either set an election date or appoint someone to the vacant Place 3 seat at Monday night's meeting. However, only three council members were in attendance at the meeting. Since there was not a quorum, the meeting was postponed.
Cassandra Butler resigned from the city council last month. At the time, Butler cited a lack of compromise among the council as a reason for her departure. Butler later rescinded her resignation, but because the retraction was too late, Butler was not allowed to reclaim her position.
Butler has said she will take legal action against the city.
