COLLEGE STATION, Texas - For a quicker departure after Texas A&M football games this fall, fans are encouraged to “Go With The Green” Post-Game Traffic Plan, which can be accessed at the 2010 Game Day Central on AggieAthletics.com or at transport.tamu.edu.
Fans travelling to Aggieland from the Houston area on Saturdays this fall will find a safer and faster route in 2010 since all the construction between College Station and Navasota on Texas Highway 6 has been completed.
Construction at the intersection of Wellborn Road (FM 2154) and Harvey Mitchell Parkway (FM 2818) may cause a “bottleneck” of traffic before and after Aggie football games. TxDOT advises fans to expect delays at this intersection or seek an alternate route, but also states three lanes of traffic each direction on Wellborn Road may be open as early as October 1.
Post-game traffic headaches can be lessened by delaying the departure from your parking spot by 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of the game. Highway Advisory Radio is available at AM 1690.
Athletic Event Management offered these reminders for fans wishing to visit the Aggie Fan Zone and other areas surrounding Kyle Field on the Texas A&M campus.
Houston street will close 3.5 hours prior to game time. Only Lot-C pass holders will be permitted in this area. Houston Street will remain closed until 90 minutes after game except for vehicles leaving campus.
Fans wishing to access the Spence Park area or the University Center Garage should use Coke Street from George Bush Drive.

Will they open up another turn lane from S. Wellborn onto 2818(going W)? The backup there has been horrendous. I only need to go a few miles to work and the past two weeks it has taken me 30 - 45 minutes!!
