A Sam Houston State employee is in the hospital Friday afternoon after a crash with a suspected drunk driver. The accident happened around 8:00 a. m. Friday, near Highway 30 and Westridge Drive in Huntsville.

The car's driver, Katheryne McGilvray, is at Saint Joseph hospital in Bryan. Her injuries are non-life-threatening. She is a 2008 graduate of Texas A&M University.

McGilvray had just started working for the sports department of Sam Houston State this week. University officials say they were excited to begin working with McGilvray and hope for the best.
