“It’s Labor Day, I’m off, we're out here at the A&M Golf Course, just me and my 4-year-old son,” said Mike Terry. “We’re just here to have a little fun today while the weather is nice. "

Or if you're enjoying the day off at Lake Somerville, a majority of working Americans are taking advantage of Labor Day, far away from work.

Except for Cassie Claman-- she's working hard at ‘Mama's Kitchen.’

"I got here at 8 O’clock this morning, it's not bad actually, someone's got to do it,” said Claman.

With only a handful of restaurants in Somerville, hungry visitors craving country cookin' are pulling in to Mama's Kitchen.

"It has been pretty busy for a Monday, we're not usually this busy on Monday's," said Claman.

"We're Hungry!" said Jason Mangum, of Goliad, Texas.

Mangum and his family are just passing through Somerville and said he's spending his Labor Day with: ”Family... I wouldn't have it any other way."

Although Claman is busy working…"Really it's not that bad, it's just another day to me..."

She says at the end of the day, a little extra cash will go a long way.

"I know some people have to do it and I bless them for it,” said Mangum. “I wish that everybody could have this day off, but I think that's what makes this world go round' if nobody was working today, we wouldn't be able to eat here!"
